What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the community: the handle and display name you choose, your email (for sign-in), an optional bio + tagline + growth intent, your interests, and the activity you generate inside Karka — posts, comments, reactions, lesson progress, check-ins.

What we don't collect

No third-party trackers, no advertising IDs, no IP-based location lookups, no fingerprints. Web Vitals are first-party and aggregate (medians, not individual rows).

How we use it

To deliver the service: route notifications, gate features by role, suggest courses you might find useful, and let facilitators see who needs a small note. Your check-ins and Companion conversations are RLS-restricted to you.

AI

Companion conversations are sent to Anthropic for inference. They are not used to train Anthropic's models per Anthropic's commercial terms.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We use Supabase for hosted Postgres + auth + storage, and Resend for transactional email. Both are bound by data-processing agreements.

Where your data lives

Karka is available to people anywhere in the world. Your account and activity data are stored in Australia — our database, sign-in, and file storage are hosted in the Sydney region. Because Karka is reachable globally, if you use it from outside Australia (for example from India, where many members are based) your data is transferred to and held on those Australian servers. The hosting and email providers named above are bound by data-processing agreements that cover that transfer.

Your rights

Export your data at Settings → Data & privacy. Delete your account from the same page — it cascades through every table and is irreversible.
