CEFR A2 · Turn your survival phrases into real conversations. Master the Telugu verb engine — present, past and future — then questions, negation, small talk and the telephone. Heavy on building sentences yourself, tap by tap, so Subject–Object–Verb word order and gender/number agreement become second nature.

What you'll build

  • Conjugate everyday Telugu verbs in the present tense with correct person, gender and number agreement (వెళ్తాను / వెళ్తావు / వెళ్తాడు / వెళ్తుంది / వెళ్తారు).
  • Talk about the past and the future — వచ్చాను (I came), వెళ్తాను (I'll go) — and use the progressive చేస్తున్నాను (I am doing) and the hortative వెళ్దాం (let's go).
  • Ask yes/no questions with the -ఆ tag (వస్తారా?) and information questions with the full wh-word set (ఎవరు, ఏమిటి, ఎక్కడ, ఎప్పుడు, ఎందుకు, ఎలా, ఎంత).
  • Handle Telugu's three negatives correctly — existential లేదు, equational కాదు, and the negative verb (వెళ్ళను / రాదు / తినడు) — and stop confusing కాదు with లేదు.
  • Build natural Subject–Object–Verb Telugu sentences from scrambled words, placing case-marked nouns, adverbs and the sentence-final verb in the right order.
  • Make and answer small talk — ఏం చేస్తున్నారు? మీది ఏ ఊరు? భోజనం అయిందా? — and respond without freezing.
  • Choose the honorific register correctly: when to use polite మీరు and when casual నువ్వు is fine, and why the wrong choice sounds rude.
  • Manage a basic phone call in Telugu — identify yourself, ask who is calling, say 'hold on', 'wrong number', 'the line cut', and 'I'll call back'.
  • Self-correct the two mistakes learners make most: wrong gender/honorific verb agreement, and choosing the wrong negative.
  • Understand short spoken Telugu at conversational speed in everyday listening situations, using slow-audio support without leaning on it.
