What you'll build

  • Speak in the present, past and future using natural spoken Chennai Tamil verb endings.
  • Ask yes/no and WH-questions the way people actually ask them (the -ஆ suffix; enna / enga / yāru / eppō).
  • Say "no" correctly — equational illa, negative verbs (-ல / -மாட்டு), and vēṇām / teriyādhu / muḍiyādhu.
  • Handle everyday small talk: greetings, "how are you", "what's up", and goodbyes.
  • Choose the right politeness level — நீ vs நீங்க and the -ங்க request softener.
  • Recognise where spoken Tamil differs from the written/formal form, and know which to use when.
  • Hold a basic phone conversation: answer, identify yourself, ask someone to hold, and deal with bad network.
  • Build your own sentences with correct Tamil word order (Subject–Object–Verb) and person agreement.
  • Understand short, natural-speed spoken dialogues on familiar everyday topics.
  • Read and match common conversational words in Tamil script.
