• Recognise which of nine reasoning question types a question belongs to within ten seconds, and name the method it requires
• Identify the base of any percentage before calculating, and solve percentage-change and successive-change questions with multipliers
• Convert instantly between the twelve fraction and percentage pairs that cover most exam arithmetic
• Set up time-and-work and speed-distance questions as rates rather than as days or hours, and check the answer lies on the correct side of the given values
• Solve profit-and-loss and interest questions by naming which price or principal each percentage is measured against
• Apply alligation, permutations, combinations and basic probability to standard exam questions and check each answer for plausibility
• Test divisibility and find HCF and LCM by prime factorisation rather than by trial
• Answer a reading-comprehension set by eliminating options that are absent from the passage, stronger than the passage, or answering a different question
• Reorder jumbled sentences by locating the one that points at nothing before it, then chaining the rest
• Deliver a structured ninety-second self-introduction and answer a behavioural question as situation, action and result
