Working at Heights

Awareness of fall risk: hazard recognition, edge protection, access equipment, fall-arrest principles, dropped objects and rescue planning.

What this course does not do

This course does not authorise you to work at height, to select, inspect or certify fall protection equipment, to erect or alter scaffold, or to carry out a fall rescue. Those competences are proven by practical assessment on the actual equipment and, in most places, by a credential or scaffolding licence obtained outside this platform.

Working at Heights

By the end

What you'll build

  • Identify fall hazards, including falls below the height threshold used on your site
  • Explain why collective protection such as edge protection is preferred over personal fall protection
  • Describe how a fall-arrest system works, including anchor, connector, harness and required clearance
  • Recognise unsafe or untagged access equipment and take it out of service
  • Explain why a rescue plan is required before work starts and why post-fall suspension is time critical
