What you'll build
- Conjugate common Kannada verbs across all persons (nānu, nīnu, nīvu, avanu, avaḷu, adu, avaru, nāvu) in the present tense.
- Form the past tense and express the future the way Bengaluru speakers really do — present form plus a time word.
- Build your own Subject-Object-Verb sentences instead of relying on memorised phrases.
- Ask and answer yes/no questions with -ā and wh- questions with ēnu, elli, yāvāga, yāru, yāke, hēge and eṣṭu.
- Negate correctly with illa, alla, bēḍa and the verb negatives — and tell apart baralla (won't) from baralilla (didn't).
- Choose the right register between informal nīnu and polite nīvu for the person you're talking to.
- Use dative constructions (nanage bēku / iṣṭa / gottu) for wanting, liking, knowing and feelings.
- Handle everyday small talk (hēgidīrā, ūṭa āytā, ēn samāchāra) and warm sign-offs naturally.
- Manage a basic phone call in Kannada — answering, holding, signal trouble, wrong numbers, and calling back.
- Recognise and self-correct the most common learner mistakes, and understand the spoken-vs-written divide.
