What you'll build
- Read and interpret first-angle orthographic drawings to the Indian IS/BIS convention, and explain how they differ from third-angle.
- Identify and correctly use every standard line type and drawing convention from BIS / IS SP 46.
- Convert freely between isometric pictorials and three-view orthographic drawings.
- Interpret sectional views and hatching, including full, half, offset, broken-out and revolved sections.
- Apply and read dimensions to IS SP 46 — placement, systems, circles, holes, chamfers and basic tolerances.
- Calculate scales and representative fractions and choose an appropriate drawing scale.
- Inspect a 3D solid in the browser to identify true lengths, faces and the correct principal views.
- Model assigned parts in your own free CAD tool and verify them against checkable mass-property numbers.
- Spot common drawing errors — missing views, wrong hatching, ambiguous or over-dimensioning.
- Read a real shop drawing end to end: title block, revisions, notes, projection symbol and geometry.
